Eventually I accumulated the equivalent of 5 or 6 big suitcases full of feminine clothes and stuff. But I was very lonely too. But for 6 years I didn’t tell her anything about me, I just thought I was “cured by love”, and for a time it seemed right to erase my feelings about being a woman. But not really, I was living a lie. I couldn’t that anymore so i came out to her in 2005. Make a long story short—devastating, heartbreaking, but also forgiving, but eventually no….divorce in 2009, one day later I became “full time”, and moved from Illinois to Northern California in 2010. I’ve never been happier! After being unemployed for 9 months (my previous job i worked for 22 years back in Illinois), I was hired at Walmart, stocking goods at night (10 years), and by then i was a full time woman, and I was treated kindly all throughout my time there. In June, 2015, i had a stroke, , 3 years of hormones was one of the causes. Thankfully no physical problems, just my speech (speech therapy for 6 months), and nowadays my speech has improved significantly. In 2022, because of my recent health issues, i was not able to work anymore. These past few years became difficult, many medical procedures, but with help of doctors and nurses (and me!), I began to feel better about my health. And I am living alone (I had roommates for 16 years), so this is wonderful! In July 2023 I became legally Kelli Nicole Elam! Thank you everyone who helped me along the way, here and everywhere else.
